Alpha Omega Retreat Recap

Nearly 35 teens and 10 adults spent this past weekend together at St. Leonard’s Youth Retreat House in Avon. Although the weather outside was a winter wonderland, inside the retreat house there was a burning for the Lord. We took part in our Alpha Omega retreat which covered Advent, Christmas and deepening our relationship with Christ in our lives. We took part in 2 hours of Reconciliation, Eucharistic Adoration and closed the weekend with our friends and family in celebration lead by Fr. Bob. It was by far a great weekend for all and a retreat for the record books.PC030057

Congratulations Leatherheads

Congratulations to The Leatherheads this year’s Turkey Bowl 2010 winner. It was a wildly wet football tournament on Thanksgiving Day as around 20 of us gathered for what has been coined the Gravy Bowl 2010.PB240078

Tip Your Hat To FIAT

Last Sunday over 40 of us gathered for a night dedicated to Mary. “The Way You Wear Your Hat” was a night all about the different hats Mary wears in our faith and helped us think about all the hats we wear in our lives. Check out our commercial for Sids Hat Hut.

Meet Bonez

Welcome “Bonez” the newest member of the Youth Ministry Office at St. Ambrose. The TLT and Ashley hired him to be Director of Skeletal Relations, intimidation and Ministry Development. His bare bones approach to ministry is sure to help make FIAT stronger.

Plunged Into Action

Last Saturday over a hundred teens from St. Ambrose took part in Brunswick’s first ever Community Plunge…A Day of Service. Seven Churches from across the city took place in a day that supported eight non profit organizations such as the Brunswick Food Pantry, the library, Project LEARN, and others. All together nearly 160 teens and adults took place in the day.

A special thanks goes out to Mayor Werner for speaking to the group and for special teen proclamation, and to everyone who made the Plunge possible: The teens, parents, Brunswick Reformed Church, Brunswick UMC, Hope Church, Holy Trinity, St. Colette and Polaris, as well as Buehler’s, Chipotle, Dunkin Donuts, Einstein Bagels, Dairy Queen and all of our job sites.IMGP1163

Kicking Off The New Year

On Sunday, September 12th FIAT kicked off the new year with 120 energetic teens and a youthful army of adults. “It’s Good To Be A Kid Again” was our kickoff theme as we enjoyed our favorite foods like Mickey Mouse shaped chicken nuggets, mac n’ cheese, jello and so much more. Red Letter played great music all night long and we all took part in activities like the FIAT 500, X-Treme four square a.k.a 16 square, and lots more.

If you weren’t there, you missed out, but have no fear there’s always next week. Join us for the brand new, revamped 5pm FIAT Mass and stay for FIAT from 6-7:30pm.

End of Summer Cookout

Thanks to all the FIATers who joined us at the End of Summer Cookout on Sunday. Nearly 40 teens, friends and Adult Core Teamers joined us on a cloudy day that was bright with FIAT excitement as we put an end to our summer.P8210067
